Eric Cornell Productions

Eric Cornell has worked in the entertainment field for over 15 years. 

 

During that time, Eric has worked on the producing and management teams of various original Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Touring, and Regional shows. He began his career in box offices and operations departments in Oklahoma, Michigan, and Boston, and at Richard Frankel Productions in New York City. He worked for over six years at 321 Theatrical Management as a company manager, and then for four years at Stage Entertainment USA as their Vice President of Production and Executive Producer. In 2016, Eric Cornell Productions was incorporated to further Eric's producing interests in theatre, television, and digital media. One recent highlight was serving as associate producer of Nickelodeon's televised The Spongebob Musical: Live on Stage! In 2018, he cofounded (with Jack Sennott) Cornice Productions to manage theatrical investment funds and produce new shows.

Eric is a Tony Award-winning producer and has also been nominated for Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Drama League, Broadway.com Audience Choice, and Off-Broadway Alliance Awards. For his work in digital media, Eric has received a Davey Award and an Hermes Creative Award. 

Eric supports various non-profit organizations, including the Musical Theatre Factory, where he was a Board Member for three years, and the Miss America Organization, where he has served as a State Judge for Miss Florida, Miss Colorado and Miss Pennsylvania. 

Eric has also served as a finalist judge for the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions Brass Ring Awards, honoring the top attractions around the globe, and, for three years as a semi-finalist judge for the Ziegfeld Club's Billie Burke Award, recognizing an emerging female music theatre composer with  $10,000 grant to continue her pursuits. He was on the Reading Committee for selections for the 2017 New York Musical Theatre Festival and a judge for the 2017 EVVY Awards.

Utilizing his production and management experience, Eric works on various special events around New York City, including the Obie Awards, New York New Works Theatre Festival, and Diner en Blanc. He also works with various private clients and their developmental projects and consulting.

 

Eric is a member of The Broadway League, the Television Academy, and the Recording Academy. He has been a guest lecturer/speaker, presenter, or panelist for the American Theatre Wing, New York University, New York Technical Institute, Fordham College, Michigan State University, University of Connecticut, and his alma mater Emerson College, where he received his Bachelor of Arts, focused in Theatre Management.

 

Eric is an Assistant Professor at The Boston Conservatory, teaching The Business of Theatre, a course he self-developed to empower younger performers in their careers. He received his HBX CORe credential from Harvard Business School Online and his Master's Degree in Management from Harvard University, specializing in both Strategic Management and Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
